The EASE Lab is a network of contemplative science researchers at the University of Toronto. Beginning in 2024, we are meeting monthly to discuss research and inspire collaboration. As the advanced research arm of the Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health (BPMH) Program, the network aims to connect researchers and students from all three University of Toronto campuses.
University of Toronto operates on a site that has for thousands of years been the land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit, and this place is still home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. A land acknowledgment cannot undo violent histories against Indigenous peoples on these lands. As a community, we are working to uproot the colonial legacy that impacts all aspects of our work and being. Through participation in this work and in holding ourselves accountable in the various ways that are particular to our own location, we carry forward a commitment to listen, (un)learn, and grow.
The work of the EASE Lab has been sponsored by the Ontario Medical Foundation, the New College Initiatives Fund, the Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health Program, the Khyentse Foundation, and the Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation Centre for Buddhist Studies at the University of Toronto.
